This week TLA is join by MooMoo_Outdoors, Fishing 24/7 and Carlitos in HMB for a long awaited catch and cook episode. The conditions were perfect and some crabs cooperated for a great catch and cook lunch by fishing 24/7

The crabbing season has started slow for the Kayak fleet even before the start of the commercial season. This catch and cook episode has been in the works with Moomoo_Outdoors, Fishing 24/7 and Carlos for awhile now.

Crabbing Report:

The general consensus from those that I fish with is that the crabs are sitting farther off shore. Try 75-100 ft. with an overnight soak. This is the best way to come home with limits, but also increases the risk of being poached. The Sonoma coast around bodega, Doran to Timber Cove area is producing better crabbing. Poaching this year has increased and DFWG are aware if the increase illegal activity. Weather they take action or not, i’m not sure but it is on their radar.

Question?
What do you think should be the penalty for those who are caught poaching other person traps? Monetary fines? Public flogging or having their license/privileges revoked for 2+ years? Let me know in the comments below.
